I'm glad I wasn't the only person who saw the GP finals and thought it looked like a battle between good and evil, especially in regards to their relationship with this podcast.
This was one of the best episodes of all time. Conley is a great guest, and the Michael Jacob and Gerard scumbag stories were so good. I was actually surprised you guys didn't bring up the Paulo/Gerry thing, since that was a big deal on twitter last week. Keep up the good work guys.

Hey Bro! When I was on your cast, what were the ratings? I bet my hilarious stories made your ratings really high! How many more listeners did you have when I was on? My stories are hilarious. I bet you got way more listeners because of my stories. By the way, did you intent to draw? Just so you know, I was right to call a judge there because you intended to draw.
Oh, come on now Gerrard. By that logic, every player who picks up the top card of their library, then pauses to survey the board to look for missed triggers is doing something wrong, because they intend to draw that card IF they don't see anything? Nice try.
No offense but that is pretty shady. Maybe he intended to concede the game? If no actions were "performed" then it is rather sketchy to suggest someone was "going to do something" and not give them any leeway in making a decision or remembering to do something "for example a "may" trigger" Why not just call someone out for not doing something if they take a breath because that could be a sign they wanted to do something else but may changed their minds. If the card was looked at in anyway you might have had a case but seriously....

I agree, you were completely correct in calling a judge. You were even correct in appealing the call. Why? Because that is what you do when you aren't sure about something.

The only even scummy thing I took away from the story was the subtle mind game. It sounds like you tried to brain ninja him.

At the GP, I did not feel his judge call was "scummy". I remembered reading how certain judges were using intent to rule the good old Esper Charm case and so I thought maybe there was a case here, but because Delver says "look at the top card", it's hard for me to imagine a scenario where I wouldn't be allowed to flip Delver when I hadn't even seen the top card yet.
For the record, I don't think ill of Gerard at all. My impression of him now is a player that tries to exploit every edge.
Awesome cast, that was the perfect Medina quote. Jonathan as an actual cohost has a far different sound then as a guest, and its a nice change to the cast. epic scumbag stories, and good hearing that new guy, KYT. Keep it up!

Uhh I play 19 lands in my delver deck, and get flooded ALL THE FREAKING TIME. I have no idea what's wrong with jayboosh. does anyone?
I was playing 19 lands at the GP. It's just a high variance deck. Jay just likes to rage on UW Delver, even versions that don't run Pike.
Also, let it be known that I was one of two people that weekend wearing a "What Turn Is It? - Two Explores" shirt.
I'm the player in the Michael Jacobs draw story. I posted that on somethingawful.com and wasn't aware that someone was going to spread it around. It was hilarious to hear the story from someone elses mouth, though.
I just want to point out (based on the GP Orlando results) that Scotty Mac TOTALLY called it when he said you can just build a deck that meta's heavily against delver. The 2 decks in the finals were exactly that, and a lot of the day 2 deck lists (a la Ben Stark) were build and played the same way.
