Magic: the Gathering Weekend Extravaganza

Join us on the weekend of Pro Tour Montreal, when four of the largest stores in Montreal will be working together alongside Mana Deprived and the Canadian Magic Tour to bring players one of the most unique and exciting Magic: the Gathering experiences ever!

The venue will be open Friday, February 15th through Sunday, February 17th, where players will be able to spend their time competing in some amazing cash tournaments, watch live streaming of Pro Tour Montreal on multiple screens all weekend long, browse a huge selection of singles and products from on-site vendors, and meet Pro players!

If you were at the GP Toronto Mana Deprived party in December, then you know how much fun it is to get together for drinks and karaoke with everyone from the Magic community, and we’ll be hosting a similar party on Saturday night! Come hang out with friends, Pro players, judges, and Pro Tour staff for drinks and karaoke at Pub St-Paul!

If there’s one Canadian Magic event not to miss this year, it’s this one! Come down for the entire weekend for what’s sure to be one of the most incredible weekends of the year!

EVENTS

– Friday, February 15th, 2013 –

Doors opens at noon. Vendors will be on site all day long, and players can come by to play side events while watching the Pro Tour on large screens (live streaming will continue through Sunday). The following side events will be held all weekend long (starting on Friday):

8-man Win-A-Box tournaments (Standard, Legacy, Modern)
Entry Fee: $10

8-man Single-Elimination Drafts
Entry Fee: $10
Prize Structure:
1st place: 4 booster packs
2nd place: 2 booster packs
3-4th place: 1 booster pack/player

4-man Multiplayer Commander tournaments
Entry Fee: $10
The winner of each 4-man event will be awarded $40 store credit to be used at Gamekeeper

The following FNMs will also be held:

FNM – 2HG Sealed
Start Time: 6 p.m.
Entry fee: $15/player ($30/team)
Prize Structure: 2 booster packs per player are added to the prize pool for top competitors.

FNM – Draft
Start Time: 6:30 p.m.
Entry Fee: $15/player
Deck boxes, sleeves, booster packs, and other prizes will be awarded to top competitors.

FNM – Standard
Start Time: 7 p.m.
Entry Fee: $5 (each player will receive 1 booster pack for entering)
Prize Structure: 1 booster pack per player will be added to the prize pool for top competitors.

FNM – Modern
Start Time: 7:30 p.m.

Mana Deprived Super Series: Montreal (MDSS)

Format: Team Trios Constructed (Standard/Modern/Legacy)
Registration: 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Start Time: 10 a.m.
Entry Fee: $90/team
Prize Structure:
1st place: $900 + MDSS trophy
2nd place: $600
3-4th place: $300/team
Written coverage and feature matches will be posted on ManaDeprived.com the following week.

Grand Prix Trial Pittsburgh (hosted by Gamerz Coop)

Registration: 3:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Start Time: 4:30 p.m.
Format: Standard
Entry Fee: $10
Each player will receive two (2) booster packs upon entry. The winner is awarded 3 byes to Grand Prix Pittsburgh (end of March).

Head Hunter Highlander Event (hosted by Gamerz Coop)

Registration: 8:30 p.m. – 9:15 p.m.
Start: 9:30 p.m.
Entry Fee: $10
Format: Commander
Each player will receive two (2) booster packs upon entry. Players will be divided into 4-man pods, where the winner of each pod will win their opponent’s booster packs and advance to the next pod until only one player remains!

Mana Deprived Pro Tour party (with karaoke!)
